BICC Autumn News Report.|
The BICC Late Bred sale run by Sue Baker seems to have been a great
success. Sue was telling me that during the final hour of the phone in
sale her phone was in "melt down". The final total raised was
£2,775 less of course any expenses accrued. Our thanks to all
those members who generously gave of their best for the club's benefit,
and here's wishing that the purchasers enjoy great success with the
progeny of their purchases.
Our thanks also must go to Sue for all her hard work in running the
phone in auction.
Members wishing to attend the Annual Sinner and Prize Presentation at

weekend break for £112.50 per person for Friday, Saturday and
Sunday nights. All bookings to be made through our secretary,

However, I should point out that Carol will be away on a well deserved
holiday from 26th September until the 12th October.
The following is an appeal to all BICC members out there who may have
in their lofts pigeons with multiple performances from Barcelona or an
alternative race of around 700 miles. If you have, and would like to
receive the publicity that your big hearted pigeon deserves then read
Barcelona Birds: Cameron Stansfield at Elimar and Gareth Watkins are
teaming up to produce a series for publications over the coming months,
featuring UK Barcelona pigeons. We will be contacting some members on
an individual basis but this is a potentially big project so we ask if
fanciers who have such birds take the initiative and contact us.
Ideally we would like a photo and pedigree (or breeding details if a
full pedigree is not available) of the pigeon, plus, if possible,
photos of the parents, owners and loft plus some details about the
individual pigeons, such as race record and racing history in
preparation for their marathon event. The address to send all material
to is firstname.lastname@example.org or Gcymro@aol.com.
Come on, don't be shy, give your pigeons the publicity they deserve.
Let's build an archive which can be used as a point of reference
in the years to come. There you go, its up to you now to get the
publicity that your pigeons performances so richly deserve.
On the finance front this is what our treasurer Russell Bradford has to
" Carol and I are now attacking the figures and I hope to have them
ready for audit by the middle of October. For the first time I paid out
the Euro prize money for the Pau International immediately on receipt
of the invoice from the Colombe Joyeuse (Belgium Organisers),. Rather
than waiting for a cheque run in October, I paid them all via BACS
(bank-to-bank), so anyone who would prefer to receive whatever prize
money they are due, could equally receive their money in this manner,
if they would like to let Carol or me have their bank details. All
details will of course be kept entirely 100% private. Both
Carol’s and my phone and ‘e’-mail details are in the
BICC handbook and on the BICC website."
I have included with this report photographs of all the old bird
National race winners along with their winning pigeons, kindly supplied
by Chris Sutton. The International race winners and their winning
pigeons' photographs will appear along with the Guernsey young bird and
old hens race winners photographs in my next news report.
Also included are some photos of the redevelopment of the new House of
Aarden Stud, one of the club's most generous sponsors.
